It is totally worth the trip. We enjoyed our stay at the park.
The park is well kept, and good parking spaces for trailers.
The Mineral Wells State Park is a near wild piece of the Texas upstate country that has both been left alone and some of which has been a left to return to nature. The camp ground is a great place to spend a few days with the family, all the necessary amenities are available. The park has some significant hiking opportunities, from flat through forest to steep and rocky, there are even cliff climbing places that are surprisingly well used. The lake is large and well stocked with fish, boat landings and fishing piers have easy access.....
There is a beautiful lake with a beach for swimming, kayaking, boating, and fishing. You can fish day or night, either way it's beautiful.
The campsites were clean and included water, fire ring, picnic tables, and electricity for RVs. Bathrooms are close to most campsites and there are showers available as well.
Plenty of whitetail deer around for photographers. :)
This is quickly becoming our favorite state park. The campsites are larger than other state parks and have so much underbrush and trees between them that you can’t see your neighbors from your fire pit (picnic table area). We really like that the trails aren’t super manicured, giving you less of an urban and more of a back to nature feel.
We went hiking on the trails and were rewarded with both difficult terrain and spectacular views.
We love the park! Perfect size, lots of different activities and opportunities!
Will come again. Just get out there and go, you won't regret it.
I would recommend this park for a family get together, couples
